Preview of Girls Basketball 24-25

As we transition into the coldest time of the year, The Glendora High School girls basketball team is prepared to tackle the 2024 season with clear objectives. Captains Milana Luera and Reagan Hermann shared insights into challenges, various strategies, and the unique dynamics that they hope will lead them successfully this season.

Primarily, the team aims to improve their chemistry, believing the strength of their bond plays a key role in determining this season’s success.

As Milana explained, “We’re working on building our connection as teammates and friends,” reflecting the team’s dedication to a genuine bond that will strengthen their gameplay.

Seeking “to go as far as possible in CIF,” Reagan believes that “With the new division rules,” the team has “an opportunity to advance further,” consequently leaving them “determined to use that to our advantage.”

As the new roster includes numerous new players stepping into prominent roles, Reagan finds it “exciting to see how much they’ve grown.” “Their presence has changed the team atmosphere in a good way.” Milana added, emphasizing the strong friendships that translate into on-court chemistry.

Despite the advantages that accompany the entrance of “many new players, not everyone is used to the intensity of varsity play yet,” Reagan noted. “But we’re improving every day.” Prioritizing maintaining positive energy,

Milana aims “to keep the team motivated by cheering and lifting everyone’s spirits,” through “helping and encouraging each other.” Reagan highlighted the importance of energy from every player, even those on the bench. “Positive energy is contagious and helps the whole team stay motivated.”

As part of building essential team unity, Milana shared that the team often does the Cha-Cha Slide before home games, while Reagan finds strength in pre-game prayers. Both traditions assist in motivating the team to play successfully through boosting enthusiasm and morale.

The team’s biggest rival remains Bonita as the captains “know they’ll bring intensity,” “preparing to match their energy,” Milana noted.

Reagan added, “League games against Bonita are always competitive, but we’re ready to dedicate ourselves to those matchups.”

When asked to define the team’s chemistry in one word, both captains highlighted their work ethic and connection. “Hard-working,” Milana said, while Reagan chose “dedicated” and “connected.” With a blend of returning players and new talent, the Tartans are focused on growth, connection, and achieving their goals. Their determination and teamwork are bound to make this season memorable.

As the season unravels, the Glendora High girls basketball team embodies their spirit of hard work and dedication, both on and off the court. As the Tartans continue their journey, we wish the Glendora High girls basketball team the best of luck in their upcoming season—may their hard work and dedication lead to a memorable year on and off the court.
